The mission of the Florida Center for Automotive Research is to promote the education of students in the broad areas of motor sports and automotive engineering through theoretical and applied instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels and through interaction with and support of industry.

VISION

To evolve the FCAR motor sports and automotive engineering program into a nationally recognized program producing

  • exceptional undergraduate students trained in the theory and application of motor sports and automotive engineering;
  • exceptional graduate students trained in the theory and application of motor sports and automotive engineering and well versed in automotive research issues;
  • state-of-the-art research in automotive-related topics in particular high efficiency low pollutant emission engine development capable of running on renewable alternative fuels;
  • exceptional service to the automotive industry through knowledgeable faculty, technicians, and students, and established paths for interaction.
